The recent publication of the EA FC 24 Premier League Team of the Season painted a fairly sorry picture for Manchester United fans.

Alejandro Garnacho was the only player from the club to make it into the 20-man squad – a dismal state of affairs however you look at it.

By contrast, players from Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool made up almost three-quarters of the squad – a tally which reflects their dominance this season.

The best Man United line-up for EA FC 24

Any gamers with ambitions of using Man United as the basis to make their mark on the FC Pro circuit must place a strong emphasis on the club’s younger players.

As befits a club which has repeatedly failed on the pitch this season, United’s squad is packed with underachievers. On that basis, taking risks with younger talents could pay dividends.

Sportsbooks which offer odds on EA FC 24 tournaments would undoubtedly adjust their prices on teams which contain some of the club’s emerging talents.

Garnacho is clearly a player who could impact eSports betting odds, with his 92 rating in the TOTS list reflecting the progress he has made this season.

However, as any football fan or successful bettor will tell you, any team which wants to be successful needs to be built on solid foundations.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana has shown enough this season to suggest he is worth persevering with, particularly if he has a solid defence in front of him.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are obvious choices at full-back, although braver players may fancy developing Tyrell Malacia as a replacement for the latter.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are the standout centre-back pairing, but caution is needed with the former France international.

Varane has low stamina, which means it is unwise to commit him to last ditch sprints as he can very quickly run out of steam.

While the goalkeeper and back four are fairly easy to select, a greater deal of consideration needs to be given to how the team will line-up further forward.

On that basis of their rankings, Casemiro should fill one of the central midfield roles, while Bruno Fernandes is a nailed-on starter as the number 10.

Christian Eriksen’s technical ability makes him a useful option alongside Casemiro, but more ambitious gamers will utilise Mason Mount in that role.

Marcus Rashford gets the nod on the left wing, while Garnacho’s future potential is worth chancing ahead of Antony on the opposite flank.

Rasmus Hojlund should be the focal point of the front three in an attacking 4-3-3 formation, although the system does have some down sides.

Opponents who are aggressive and utilise pacey counter attacks can exploit some of the imbalance in the team – a factor which has been prevalent in the ‘real-world’ this season.

However, with the option to use the transfer market to tweak the squad, Man United are an exciting project for any EA FC 24 player.
