At 9.10pm, Robin van Persie arrived at Bridgewater Hospital to complete his medical ahead of his move to Manchester United.
At 12.10am Van Persie passed his medical and signed autographs for fans when he left.
Van Persie’s deal must be confirmed by midday on Friday to ensure he is allowed to make his début on Monday against Everton.
