Steve Bruce has again reiterated his desire to sign Danny Welbeck on a permanent deal but believes it is almost impossible.

Kieran Richardson, Phil Bardsley and Frazier Campbell have all made the move from United after progressing through our academy and will certainly be promoting the positives of leaving United for a club he could play for every week.

“The boys who come here from Manchester United always do well. There must be something in the air here that they enjoy,” Bruce said “Danny has had a wonderful time here and has enjoyed playing. Now he has got the ultimate accolade for his performances for us and he has been called up for the England team. It is going to be very, very difficult to try to get him here [on a permanent deal]. Can we get him? I think it’s very, very doubtful, if I am being honest.”
