Reports this morning suggest that Frazier Campbell is ready to return to Manchester United in the summer where he will be offered a long-term deal.

Campbell’s last goal for us came in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s testimonial, scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Espanyol. He then got ten minutes in the Community Shield against Portsmouth, before starting our first league game of the season against Newcastle alongside Rooney. It was only through the excellent goalkeeping from Shay Given that Campbell didn’t get his name on the scoresheet.

A month later, Campbell made his début for Spurs and played a crucial role in the Londoners’ 2-1 win over Wisla Krakow. Within ten minutes of being subbed on, Campbell delivered a great ball for Darren Bent to head past the keeper, the winning goal.

His highlight in the capital obviously came in Tottenham’s 4-2 win over Liverpool in the League Cup. With both teams putting out understrength line-ups, Spurs were 3-0 up at half with, with Campbell scoring his first on 42 minutes and his second on 45.

The following weekend, Spurs were 2-0 in the league at Fulham when Campbell came on. With ten minutes to go he scored a consolation goal. That was back in November and he hasn’t scored in his thirteen appearances since.

Harry Hotspur has given me his opinion on Frazier.

The deal was he came as ‘beads & mirrors’ along with the carrier bag of used notes we got in exchange for the rat faced Bulgarian nonce.

The vast majority of Spurs fans cheered when his name was announced and roared him on in those first few games when he came on, hungry and willing. ‘He may well be mustard’ was the general consensus.

He was mustard. The stuff you get on burger vans. Mild and mustard like, but not quite the real deal. He looked good at Hull and for a reason. He’s a gifted Championship player. No more.

He’s as fit as the butcher’s canine companion, but technically he just doesn’t have it. Will he improve? I honestly don’t know and unapologetically say I do not care. Sir Alex loaned him to us full in the knowledge it was inconceivable that he would benefit us drastically.

Mission accomplished.
