Manchester United face a hectic schedule over the next few weeks as they bid to continue their recent resurgence.

Successive victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City has put a different slant on United’s season, but it is vital that they maintain their momentum during the rest of December.

The Red Devils face six important games across three competitions before the end of the year, with each coming against teams they would normally expect to beat.

Read on as we assess whether United can win their next six matches.

AZ Alkmaar (H) – December 12

United turn their attentions to the Europa League on Thursday needing to avoid defeat against Alkmaar to secure top spot in Group L.

The two sides fought out a goalless in the Netherlands back in October, with United failing to muster a shot on target during the 90 minutes.

However, Alkmaar’s record in England is poor and United are rightly favourites at http://gg.bet/en/betting-sports/ to win the game.

Everton (H) – December 15

The Red Devils return to Premier League action on Sunday to face an Everton side who secured a confidence boosting victory over Chelsea last weekend.

The visitors may well have a new manager in place for the trip to Old Trafford, with caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson not expected to be handed the job on a permanent basis.

United triumphed 2-1 in the corresponding fixture back in October 2018 and are a confident selection to pick up three points in this one.

Colchester United (H) – December 18

United welcome Colchester United to Old Trafford on December 18 with a place in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup up for grabs.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were impressive at Chelsea in the last round and will fancy their chances of seeing off the League 2 outfit.

Colchester knocked out Spurs on penalties in the third round and have done well to reach the last eight, but their journey is expected to end against United.

Watford (A) – December 22

United will travel to Watford the following Sunday aiming to keep up their pursuit of a top four place in the Premier League.

They completed the double over the Hornets last season and their historical record against the Hertfordshire club is excellent.

Watford have struggled throughout the current campaign and will find it difficult to keep United’s flying forwards at bay.

Newcastle United (H) – December 26

Newcastle are the visitors to Old Trafford on Boxing Day and they will head to Manchester confident that they can take something from the game.

Steve Bruce is overseeing a solid campaign for the Magpies having controversially replaced Rafa Benitez as manager last summer.

However, United will see this as another winnable game and are fully expected to collect another three points here.

Burnley (A) – December 28

Burnley haven’t beaten United since 2009 and it’s difficult to imagine them ending that sequence on December 28.

The Clarets were demolished by both City and Spurs during early December and Sean Dyche’s team lacks the quality to compete with the top sides.

United won 2-0 on their last visit to Turf Moor back in September 2018 and are strongly fancied to end the year on a high note.
