We’ve recently heard Eric Cantona’s opinion on the fan he kicked and punched in United’s match against Crystal Palace, and now we get to hear his feelings on Leedscum…
“I had a bad relationship with the manager, Wilkinson,” Cantona said. “We didn’t have the same views on football. I am more like a Manchester footballer. At Leeds, football was played the old way – I think you say kick then rush. But it was very important to play for Leeds at first because I learnt a lot with this kind of football. And we had success. However, if I don’t feel the environment is good, I don’t want to be there.”
Now for the truly Cantona-esque bit…
“It’s like with a woman: sometimes you can’t find love, sometimes you can, but it’s still not right, you want more, you want to give, you want to receive,” he added. “I’m not sure that I would like to be with a woman who is like some of the chairmen I met.”
