Casemiro struggled to repeat the form of his debut season in the most recent campaign for Manchester United and missed out on the finale of the season, beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
With the Brazilian linked with a move to the Middle East, he has taken time to sing the praises of captain Bruno Fernandes, who he hails as an incredible influence both on and off the pitch.
Bruno is a very sharp player. From any space the opposition provide, he’ll find a ball to assist a team-mate. He’s one of the sharpest players towards goal I’ve played with in my career. He doesn’t need two touches to put a player through on goal. He’s a player who creates a lot of opportunities, I think he’s one of the sharpest players I’ve known in my career.
Even though Bruno speaks numerous languages – Spanish, Portuguese, English and Italian – I’m privileged to speak the same first language as him, Portuguese. Therefore we are close. Bruno is a friend, someone who has helped me a lot here since the start. I’m very thankful for Bruno on and off the pitch.
On the pitch we all know Bruno, an extraordinary player and off the pitch he’s a friend. Our daughters are in the same class at school together. It’s a pleasure to have such friends on and off the pitch, and I’m so pleased he’s at United. He’s a brilliant player and a great person who helps us a great deal.
