John Terry has played first team football for Chelsea for eleven seasons. In that time they have finished 3rd, 5th, 6th, 6th, 4th, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd in the league, giving them an averaging finishing place of 3rd. Yet those title wins five and six seasons ago have given Terry ideas above his station.

“We’re confident for next season and our main target is to regain the championship,”
Terry said at the end of the 2007 season. “We’ll come back stronger. Seeing United lift the trophy the other week was not nice at all and having won it the previous two years, we felt it was our trophy and we’ll come back fighting.”

“We feel we are the best team,” Lampard added. “We haven’t been able to put out our strongest team for a lot of periods but we’ve kept going to the end.”

Liverpool and City fans aside, have you ever come across a pair of more deluded twats? At that point, United had won the Premiership trophy nine times (sixteen times title winners) whilst Chelsea had just won it twice (three times title winners) but Terry believed it was their trophy? What planet is he on? Of course, Chelsea have no won the title since then, with United winning it every year.

Terry has again confirmed the hurt and pain he has suffered over the past few years, along with ‘winners’ Lampard and Drogba.

“To see Man United lift the trophy for the last three years has torn me up inside,” Terry said. “Frank Lampard would say the same thing and Didier Drogba. We are winners. We hated seeing Man United lifting the trophy.”

All together now: awwwww.
