In Manchester United’s recent game against Marseille, Javier Hernandez showed that he was capable of dealing with physical challenges better than he has in any game before. Whilst no one can doubt his finishing ability, there have been several games this season when he has been nudged off the ball far too easily.

Hernandez cites his time at the gym behind his new found strength to hold up the ball and hold off the challenge.

“I have done better than I thought I would but I wouldn’t say it has been easier. Nothing in life is easy,” said Hernandez. “Physically I have got a lot stronger. I go to the gym a lot. It is not because I like it. It is something I needed to do because the English league is quicker and more physical.”
