VidalReports from Chile today claim that Arturo Vidal is a number one priority for Louis van Gaal and would cost United just over £30m.

La Tercera claims that Van Gaal is “obsessed” with with signing Vidal and has been since he was the manager of Bayern Munich. Van Gaal apparently wanted to sign him from Bayer Leverkusen but the midfielder went to Juventus instead.

El Mercurio report that United are prepared to break the bank to sign Vidal, but first want to know more about his knee injury. They report they he has been having injections in the area to allow him to play without pain, after returning too quickly from an operation in order to make it to the World Cup. El Mercurio say that United have been in touch with the Chilean team doctor to find out more details.

If United are keen to progress after assessing the knee situation, El Mercurio report that United will offer £35m plus Nani to sign Vidal.

The English press have today reported that United were in discussions with Vidal’s agent yesterday. The player shares an agent with Alexis Sanchez, Fernando Felicevich, who agreed terms for his move from Barcelona to Arsenal this week.
