After finding himself third in pecking order during the summer, behind the dreadful Rob Green and past it David James, Joe Hart got a start for England last night. Wayne Rooney pulled all the strings, playing a beautiful ball forward for the first and assisting the three others in their 4-0 win, with Hart making a couple of good saves.
The City keeper revealed he learnt his technique from Kasper Schmeichel, son of our very own Peter Schmeichel.
“I try to stand big,” said Hart. “I’ve stolen [the technique] from Kasper Schmeichel, who I worked with for a bit – and it’s working for now. Luckily [the ball] hit me.”
