Tom Cleverley is a lad who lots of United fans have high hopes for. For those who pay less attention to the Reserves, this midfielder got his chance in this summer’s pre-season tour, scoring a goal in his first game with the first team.

He has spoken about his time with United, saying that he is looking forward to taking centre stage, whether that be in the matches he expects to get in the League Cup, or a period out on loan with another club.

“He asks a lot of us in terms of work-rate but we like that, we like working hard for Ole,” he said. “The technical and physical work is helping us all to improve and we’re all looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Cleverley is looking forward to his chance to shine, whether that be in the League Cup, or out on loan for another club.

“My confidence is high and I want to carry on producing good performances for the reserves,” he added. “Hopefully my chance will come in the first team in the Carling Cup and maybe I’ll go on a loan spell somewhere to keep progressing in my career.”
