Cleverley: Stones is a Rolls Royce defender like Rio

Everton’s defender, John Stones, has been linked with Chelsea over the past few weeks, following poor performances from John Terry. His red card at the weekend only increased those reports.

Tom Cleverley, who plays alongside Stones at Everton, has likened the young defender to Rio Ferdinand.

He’s a Rolls Royce at the back. He’s so calm and composed. First and foremost you want a great defender that does all the basics right. He’s a very talented player. If you had to liken him to anyone, it would probably be Rio. Very quick and calm on the ball. You always have trust in him.
