Tottenham Hotspur played their final pre-season game of the summer this evening against AC Milan, winning 2-0. Harry Kane was in the squad and set to play, but was removed at the last minute.
The commentator for the game claimed that Manchester United have put in a bid for the striker.
When the transfer window first opened, United were regularly linked with a move for Kane, but the player dismissed these rumours, claiming he wanted to stay with Spurs for the foreseeable future.
Last week, Louis van Gaal was asked about Kane and was happy to admit he rated the 22-year-old.
“I have seen, of course, many games where he has shown his qualities,” he said. “I think he is a great player, a great talent.”
United face Spurs on the opening day of the season at 12.45pm and the north London side will return to London tomorrow, before travelling to Manchester ahead of the early kick-off.
