On Friday, The Mirror reports that Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes had clashed in training and both left the field limping, putting their availability for today’s game in doubt.
However, a link to a spoof article quickly surfaced, with the story likely poking fun at the fact United’s best two performing players could injury each other and miss the rest of the season.
“That’s me fucked,” Solskjaer was quoted as saying. “Credit to Ed Woodward, he pre-sacked me this morning ahead of the games we’re about to lose. It’s nice to have that certainty that I won’t be here soon. Gives me the chance to start shipping my bits and bobs back to Oslo.”
By Saturday morning, The Mirror article had been deleted from their website, but not before plenty of other tabloids reported the same story on their websites. Journalism, eh?
