Manchester United have confirmed this afternoon that Cristiano Ronaldo is returning to Old Trafford. A deal has been agreed with Juventus so all we are waiting on in an agreement in personal terms, visa and a medical, which we can presume will be a formality.

Having spent 12 years at Real Madrid and Juventus, Ronaldo is back and looking to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer improve on last season’s second place finish and help us win some silverware.

Just 24 hours ago it appeared as though he was set for a move to Manchester City, despite earlier claims he would never play for our rivals. But when United showed interest, there was only one club he was joining.

In this afternoon’s press conference, Solskjaer more than hinted that the player could be on his way.

I didn’t think Cristiano would leave Juventus. If he ever wants to move away from Juventus he knows we are here.

For me he is the greatest player of all time. We have had a bit of communication and I know Bruno has been talking to him as well. There’s been a lot of speculation the last few days. Let’s see what happens with Cristiano, he’s a legend of this club. I played with him and coached him. He’s a tremendous human being. Let’s see what happens with Cristiano.
