After a bright start to life at Manchester United, Angel Di Maria’s form quickly dropped off, and when he stupidly got himself sent off in the FA Cup game against Arsenal for pulling the referee’s shirt, he lost his place in the first team.
In the summer, Di Maria refused to join up with the squad on the pre-season tour, and forced his move to PSG, the club he had wanted to join all along.
Di Maria is now thriving in Ligue 1, where there is little to no competition, enjoying playing for a side that is on a totally different level to every other club. Despite there being months still left to play, PSG have 24 more points than any other side, and boast a +50 goal difference, compared to the +7 of second placed Monaco.
Manchester was a sad experience. Things did not go the way I expected, I was disappointed and I could not surface. Honestly, I don’t remember what happened and I don’t want to remember.
