Diouf To Blackburn?

Sky Sports have reported that Blackburn are interested in bringing Mame Biram Diouf to their club on loan.

Seriously do they write these players what to say? I thought Joe Cole said the exact same things as the ladyboy.

The key is getting the player in a situation in which he can actually play - look at the way the Giussepe Rossi's loan at Newcastle was an utter and complete waste of time because their bone-headed manager wouldn't give him game time. On the other hand, as you write, Jonny Evans' time at Sunderland was an excellent learning experience.

Given SAF's contacts in the managerial ranks, he should be able to find spots for guys like Mame Biram Diouf who are not yet UTDquality but who have lots of potential. To my way of thinking, I'd like to see Cleverley, Diouf and Welbeck ALL sent to Blackpool so that they can play together on a team that will come into the new season on a bounce. Of course, that would mean SAF would have to wring some concessions from Ian Holloway but i'd imagine that won't be hard to do since Blackpool are probably going to be this season's version of Burnley - playing attractive football with too many below-EPL quality players.

If it's a choice between sending out Diouf and Macheda then I think that I'd go for keeping KikoTheKid - he has shown flashes of brilliance and also spent a long time on the disabled list. What he needs is some time with the first team - to sort out his "head" as well as to properly analyze his ability in game-situations. From all we've heard, he's been a great success at Carrington but the speed and strength required for 90 minutes against EPL journeymen like Ryan Nelsen or Christopher Samba is likely to be an altogether-different challenge for him. He clearly has the potential to be a star - what needs to be considered is if that potential can be realized.

Diouf himself is a fascinating character in that he seems to me to be the one like-for-like "alternative" to WayneRooney. I suppose that in the event of some sort of really serious injury to UTD talisman that the loan arrangement should be worked out so that Diouf can be recalled. Otherwise, the guy needs playing-time; so do Welbeck, Cleverley, and Welbeck.

@Costas - Joe Cole claimed they were the "biggest" which is enough of a stretch, but the best? After finishing 7th? hahaha.

These are exactly the attributes that UTD's midfield lack if Anderson and Hargreaves are unlikely to be able to contribute - your description sounds a lot like Gennaro Gattuso in his heyday. Clearly, though, Annan is a player who is a cut below the De Rossi/Schweinsteiger/Toulalan level which is what - in an ideal world - UTD should be considering to play alongside Darren Fletcherinho (football genius).

Here is what we can do to cut down our strikeforce, since even squad rotation cannot solve the problem of having to many strikers:

1st Rooney
2nd Chicharito
3rd Macheda

Loan out Welbeck, and if Berbatov decides to play as a striker (which he hasnt so far) then keep him in reserve. Loan out Diouf, it's the only way. I stress that Berbatov cannot be considered a threat to opposition defenders anymore.

Saw some commentts from Brazillains a week or two ago who followed the Rentboys . They hoped to god they didn't sign Ramirez. Its all opinions though. Its width the Chav's need not more midfielders.

I wish people would get a clue when it comes to buying young players. There isn't a profit in most of the young players to be had and young players are a risk as there are additional factors that come to play when it comes to them making it.

You pay for potential so you overpay and many won't make it and most will be sold without a profit, often a loss (and when the other costs are taken into account a decent loss). A skint club doesn't buy loads of overpriced young players and don't buy to make money on the resale.

@Moscow is my Heaven - whatever you may think of Berbatov, completely denying the fact that he's a creative striker voids your argument. Apart from maybe Giggsy or Scholes he is the most creative player we have.

I know that De Rossi won't leave Roma but he's the kind of player that would be an ideal partner for Fletcherinho. About Toulalan - not my first choice but I thought he was impressive on a completely disorganized and dispirited French team at the World Cup and he has been "money" for Lyon for a while but I'm more enamoured of Schweinsteiger to partner Fletcherinho in an ideal/dream world

Those guys are just names - they were given to indicate the kind of player that would be the best fit for the current UTD team among those who are currently playing and not completely over-age. Perhaps this Defour guy has more in his locker when he finally gets back to full fitness; certainly Schmadmir thinks that Anthony Annan would be a good punt but I was not overly impressed by him at the World Cup. The problem with these two other guys is that all we really have to go on with them is rumour whereas De Rossi/Schweinsteiger/Toulalan are all proven commodities of whom we have seen enough to form an opinion. Of course, they're also "too old" for the transfer model that seems to be at work amongst the administrators at OldTrafford these days but, in my opinion, having one of that group would certainly make a huge difference to UTD's competitiveness.

Diouf lacks the class to be a Utd player. The USA tour highlighted his lack of a first touch and a loan period would hopefully, iron out a few of his failings.

I am at a loss as to why Cleverley would be sent out on loan again - having already proved his quality at Watford. He is now 20 and should be knocking on the first team door. No point in saying what a great youth policy we have, when we are not giving the young players a chance.

Defour will join Utd in January when he has proved his fitness.

Ozil will be sold in this transfer window as he will be a free agent next year - his club surely cannot afford a player of his ability to leave on a Bosman.

let Mame & Danny out for loan…we have Roo, Chicha, Berba, Owen & Kiko to strike…
If we didn`t sign any midfielder…keep Cleverly…we need another additional to Fletch, Carrick, Scholes & Gibbo since Hargo will be absent at least until next year!! I have no idea about Ando..

Blackburn could be a good move for Diouf but, if he goes out on loan, I can't see him returning to United the following season.

im sure Hernandez, Macheda and Owen are ahead of the pecking order... so i think it will be best for him 2 go out on loan..
unfortunately i dont see Diouf staying at Man Utd for more than 2 seasons
