LOL. the poznan is a celebration started by Lech Poznan , a polish club. anytime they score a goal the fans back the field , put their hands on each other's shoulders and jump and move from side to side. City decided to copy it when they got smashed by poznan 3-1 in Poland in a Europa lge game. but as is always the case with Shitty their poznan is nowhere near as fun as the original poznan.

The best thing about them doing this is when the Lech Pozan supporters did this celebration they all ripped it to shreds with such classics as "who are ya" "what the fucking hell is that" ... couple of weeks later, they've copied it.

Tonka....Hughes volley was if I remember right against C Palace in the FA cup semi final. if my rmemory serves me right in them days it was a one leg final . Ian Wright was playing for them and had scored before going to the Gooners and we were 2-1 down with a few mins to go.
The ball came over the top and Hughes belted it for all his worth... scored.... and we went on to win the replay......
it was the goal that supposedly saved SAF's job as we hadn't won fuck all and the press were clamouring for his head.

@ Tonka - Or do you mean Hughes volley against the bitters in the 5-1 defeat, the only thing they had on us until we smashed them 5-0 and put a stop to that. That was a Hughesy stunner but it was at Maine Road mate!!

@ TonyBee - No mate the goal that apperently saved SAF was against Forest mate, and it was Mark Robbins who bagged it. When Hughes got that goal against Oldham SAF was already on his path to God like status!!

Hughes goal against Oldham in the 1994 FA Cup semi was a cracker, one of the best goals I've ever seen. It was at Wembley. It wasn't an over-head scissors kick, it was powerered home whilst falling over backwards as the ball was coming over his shoulder from behind. I heard the thump of his boot on the ball followed a fraction of a second later by the rattling, scraping sound of the ball hitting the back of the net. Magic sound! United had been crap all match (sans Eric) and this last minute-equaliser kept alive hopes of the Double. I felt even as the ball was being picked out of the net by the Oldham keeper, 'Yes! We're going to do the Double'. All the Reds around me as we left the stadium thought the same. That makes it one of the most important goals in United's history.

Hughes also got a cracker in the semi final re-play against Liverpool which took us to the FA Cup Final against Everton in 1995 (Whiteside's goal then was one of the best, in a different way).

Sounds like there's several contenders but the one Im pulling from memory was a volley at about shoulder height. It was the sweetest thing I ever saw, made better by the distance it seemed to travel before waking the stadium. Legands are always greater than the sum of evidence you can find to prove their greatness - I still miss Hughes!

Hughes scored the same sort of goal against spain for wales at wrexham in 1980 i was there it was brill

Think you meant the 1985 final not 1995. I remember Robson getting the first against Liverpool at Main Road in the semi replay after a long run then unleashing a superb shot. The final I will never forget either, Kevin Moran got a red card, the first to be sent off in an FA cup final.....and yes what a goal it was by Whiteside

I remember the FA Cup semifinal in 1994. Since only one station carried the match we had to travel to a house about 15 miles away that could get the signal from that particular station just to watch it, and we had to bring our own TV as the owner didn't have one. There was a blackout around the 87th minute so we all went home thinking United had lost. I even called in sick as I just couldn't face the fact that we could lose to Oldham. I only found out about two days later that Hughes had scored a magnificent 90th minute goal. Luckily we managed to watch the replay and the final. Great memories.

Oops CedarsDevil, yes I did mean '85, slip of the hand. I remember it well as I was surrounded by Everton fans who turned on me when Whiteside scored, 'You fucking United?' (how did they guess??) so I mildly said, 'Me? I'm Brentford...' which seemed to be enough to save my skin.

Kevin Moran's red card was very harsh. I was right in line, behind the goal and he went for the ball bu mis-timed it. Still, justice was done, courtesy of a brilliant display by Frank Stapleton as a make-shift centre half after Moran had gone, plus that goal by Big Norman of course. .

Great days mate, a good FA cup run usually defined our season back in those days. Our best song at the Stretty was 'We're going to Wembley' and if we did we always had the players' song to look forward to! The days of captain fantastic Robbo will always be close to my heart.... Arnold Muhren, Mike Duxbury, Jesper Olsen, Frank Stapleton and co........... My team of the 80's

Rooney's goal was better than Berb's to me because of the fierceness of the shot it was like a bullet into the top corner and also the cross took a deflection making it a little difficult for him to set himself. his connection was perfect couldn't have timed it any better. that goal is VERY RARE.

You've got to admire the bitter blues! Their title hopes all but ended in a derby day victory to their most hated rivals. Won inside 90 mins by a stunning overhead kick with no controversial decisions and a victory margin only made narrow by a flukey, scrappy goal.

Their legend Mike Sumerbee embarrasses themselves live on Sky Sports with a bitter, vitriolic rant. Then Spurs win again leaving City's top four hopes looking not as certain as they once thought.

And yet somehow despite all that the fact they managed to string quite a few passes together and didn't play with all 11 of their players behind the ball they see that as a huge positive and enough to satisfy them that the project is doing just fine! Blue moon rising …be a part of it!

This is how it feels to be City!
