Christian Eriksen will be dealing with the disappointment of failing to progress out of the group stages with Denmark at the World Cup, with Australia taking their place following their 1-0 win over them.

However, ahead of the tournament he answered some questions from the fans which have been published on the club’s official site.

Eriksen has spoken about his favourite thing about being a United player and he’s claimed that anyone who has the opportunity to come here should do.

I think, first of all, to be able to play at Manchester United is something everyone would like to try and if they had that option, should definitely try it. I’ve been very happy and welcomed since I’ve arrived here. It’s a lovely place and it’s a massive club. I came here for the football and that’s also nice.

He’s also spoken what life has been like in Manchester and how he has settled in to life in a new city.

It’s been good, I’ve only been here a few months, but it already feels like I’ve been here a lot longer, which is positive. Then you know that you feel at home straight away, which me and my family have done. So, I think we are settling in, getting to know everyone, but also the football style and how people are. It’s been a nice first few months.

Eriksen played in the no.8 shirt at Ajax, no.23 at Tottenham Hotspur, no.24 at Inter Milan and no.21 at Brentford, but wears the no.14 shirt at United. He was asked why this was the number he chose and revealed it wasn’t up to him.

I didn’t pick it, my son picked it! We had a few options, a few numbers and I wrote him a list of the numbers available, and he picked number 14.
