Corry Evans gave Northern Ireland their first win in 10 games after coming off the bench to score the winner in the 70th minute. His country haven’t scored in any of their previous 7 and have only won 4 of their last 26.

Evans is therefore unsurprisingly made up with his contribution.

“I haven’t scored for Northern Ireland since I was a schoolboy, so to get on the scoresheet in such an important match is fantastic,” said Evans. “We’ve had our criticism over our away form and for not being able to score goals, so to win away with a clean sheet is great.”
