Everton youngster, Jack Rodwell, has revealed that Rio Ferdinand is the player he looks up to the most. He was ‘buzzing’ after he got to swap shirts with him once and has tried to model his playing style on Ferdinand’s.

“The person I look up to is Rio Ferdinand,” said Rodwell. “I have always played at the back and from a young age I have always looked at Rio and wanted to play like him. As I have grown up I have started to play in midfield and I believe that Rio did the same when he was younger. I played against him at Wembley and managed to get his shirt, which was brilliant. I tapped him up after the game to make sure I got it. I was on a high anyway because we had won, and he gave it to me so I was buzzing. He took mine as well!”
