The RoM charity season preview went on sale last month with all proceeds going to Trafford Macmillan in Urmston.
Patrice Evra, a cult figure at United, gave an exclusive interview to RoM to help us raise as much money as possible. He talked about how he felt when he signed for United, the one game he wishes he could go back and play in, his goal dedication to the Busby Babes in Munich and his relationship with the fans.
We asked Evra about his relationship with compatriot and club legend Eric Cantona.
The king Eric! What I appreciate the most about Eric is his personality and his charisma. Such a legend. I say to many people and even to him, playing for United wasn’t just like playing for United, it was also to make sure that I didn’t disappoint the French people because he opened the door to all the French players. I met him in Monaco one day and I said “thank you for opening the door to the French players” and he said to me “Patrice that door you really broke it” and that was one of the biggest compliments that I received from the King. So I admire everything. The player but also his personality and his charisma.
