John CLL Terry has claimed this week that Chelsea are still capable of catching Manchester United, despite being 12 points behind with just 12 games left to play.

“It’s been done,” he said. “Man United did it to Newcastle many years ago. It’s possible and a little bit of pressure…”

That season, in the 17 games between January and May, United won 13, drew 2 and lost 2, accumulating 41 points from a possible 51. Since January, Chelsea have already dropped 10 points.

Sir Alex Ferguson has noted Terry’s attempt at mind games but isn’t took worried about what CLL has to say.

“You try things. We all try things,” he said. “But it won’t be easy to come back from that kind of points deficit. I said some time ago, the team that is most consistent would win the league. That is why I stress that we have to keep our momentum going and get that consistency.”
