When Sir Alex Ferguson became Manchester United manager, we had just 7 titles to the scousers’ 18. Today, we levelled their record, but the best manager of all time in this league has claimed he has no intention of retiring any time soon, to add further disappointment to Liverpool fans today.

“It’ll make it more special when we are in front of them,” said Ferguson. “Next year we are going for it again. That was the target because they were the greatest side in the land. But I never thought we could get 11 titles – never in a million years. I’m not contemplating it. I’ll carry on. I’m going to stay as a manager and my health will tell me when to quit.”
