Sir Alex Ferguson has reflected upon this weekend’s game against Chelsea, following a steep decline in performances and results from our title rivals.
People have been using John Terry’s injury as an excuse for Chelsea’s poor form of late, although it is important to point out that Rio Ferdinand has missed just as many games for United through injury.
“You need big squads these days because the number of matches and the intensity of matches does produce injuries,” said Ferguson. “There’s no question that having a big squad helps. We’ve got good players and they have all had big-game experience for years now. It’s not as if it is new for them. The experience is very important and the desire is still there for this club.”
