Earlier in the week there were a couple of stories suggesting Owen Hargreaves and Carlos Tevez were on their way out of Manchester United.

I doubted whether Sir Alex Ferguson would even take the time to grace the story with a response, but it seems after being asked about Hargreaves’ progress, our manager has decided to clear up any doubt over Owen’s future.

“For Owen’s sake it is important we say he is not for sale,” said Ferguson. “It is not even under consideration. It is a good story, the fact he has been injured a few times since he has been at the club. But United people remember what a contribution he made to us winning the European Cup. He was available in the second half of the season and played some important games for us.”
