Manchester United were strongly linked with a move for Holland’s Wesley Sneijder, following great performances from the midfielder in the World Cup.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti claimed that United had asked about the availability of the player, before Sneijder confirmed that he would be staying in Italy next season.

However, our manager has today revealed that club haven’t made any contact with Inter Milan in regards to the player.

“I believe the squad is stronger than last season with the younger players having another year under their belts,” said Ferguson. “I don’t know where those reports about Sneijder came from. How can anybody turn me down when I haven’t even made a bid?”
