David Villa is one of the few big name players who can actually be proud of their World Cup performance, with him scoring 5 goals in 5 games.

Villa signed for Barcelona at the beginning of the summer, after United put a last minute bid in for the striker. He seems to be worth every penny of the £35m the Spaniards spent.

“We’ve looked at a few options,” said Ferguson. “We did consider David Villa but he was always going to Barcelona. I just don’t believe there is value out there at the moment. I’m very happy with the strength of our squad as it is.”
