Bruno Fernandes won his first trophy as a Manchester United player on Sunday we we beat Newcastle 2-0 in the League Cup final.
The Portuguese player helped turned United around when signing in January 2020 and has now played his role in earning silverware for the club.
Speaking to MUTV after the final at Wembley, Fernandes spoke about his admiration of the fans always backing the team and how we deserve this piece of silverware.
It’s always incredible to be a Red, it doesn’t matter if you win or not, it’s always incredible. You see the support they [fans] give us in difficult moments, and now it’s time for them to have some joy also because they’ve been behind us through the worst and now they deserve this. They deserve to be in this position with us.
Fernandes also spoke about the impact the arrival of Erik ten Hag has had on the team and the demands the manager and players share.
Erik came with his demands, his passion, with the way he wants to play, and he brought something special to this team. We just have to carry on and do our best because this club demands a lot and we demand a lot from ourselves too.
With United still competing in the league, the FA Cup and Europa League, Fernandes told Sky Sports his hopes for the remaining competitions.
It’s been amazing [to win the Carabao Cup]. First trophy of the season, but we want more. We want more. This is not enough for this club, we want and we need more, because, for our standing, we need more. For me, it was about winning trophies. Finally we did it, but I want more. I want much more.
