Darren Fletcher was an unused substitute in Manchester United 2008 Champions League final, with penalty takers Ryan Giggs, Anderson and Nani all being brought on.
Last year, he missed out on the Champions League final after he was wrongly sent off in our comprehensive victory over Arsenal in the semi-final.
This year, Fletcher is hoping he finally gets to play in a European Cup final and is determined to help the team lift the trophy again.
“Playing in a Champions League final is definitely something I want to do,” said Fletcher. “Every player wants the opportunity to do that and I know all the lads are desperate to get back there for a third year in a row. I was really disappointed to miss out last year. But I don’t hold any grudges about it, I’m just determined to get back there and help the team lift the trophy again.”
