Patrick Vieira, who shat himself when confronted by Roy Keane ahead of our 10-man, 4-2 thumping of our former title rivals, has voiced his shock at being left out of Inter Milan’s 19-man squad tonight.
The central midfielder, who has seen better days, was not picked by Jose Mourinho for what could be the most crucial game in Inter’s season, given that they should stroll to the title again. Not the greatest vote of confidence.
“The manager took his decision,” said Vieira. “Am I surprised? Yes, of course insomuch as I featured in the last two games and to be honest I thought I would be part of this list. Manchester United are favourites, even if Inter have nothing to envy them in terms of squad.”
Now on to my favourite Vieira moment:
I’m sure our travelling fans will sing a song for him, regardless of the fact he’s been left out of the squad.
