Manchester United are set to face Ajax in the Europa League final next Wednesday. Jose Mourinho hinted that Tim Fosu-Mensah, who picked up an injury at the Etihad a few weeks ago, may be available for the squad in Stockholm.
Fosu-Mensah, who was born in Amsterdamn, joined Ajax’s academy when he was just eight. However, he is clear about where his allegiances lie now.
I’ll try to be back as soon as possible. The physios are doing a great job and I’m working hard. The injury wasn’t easy but we’re working hard and we’ll take it day by day.
I left Ajax when I was 16 after being there for eight years, so I know a lot people there – players, coaches – so it will be special but I would like to win against them because I’m a United player. They are a good side, otherwise they wouldn’t be in the final, but so are we and we have to focus on us. We’ll go to Sweden and we’ll try to win.
