Ezekiel Fryers, who is a left back by trade, played in the centre of United’s defence on Tuesday night in our 3-0 win over Leeds.

The 19-year-old has expressed his delight in making his debut but is also eager for another chance to prove himself in the first team, after such a successful debut.

“It was really good to come up to the first team, it was a massive experience and it was great to play against Leeds at Elland Road,” he said. “It was a massive night for me. It was quality and a massive step up, so I was happy to get 80 minutes in. I had to come off with a bit of cramp so now it’s all about working hard with the Reserves and getting fitter so that I’m ready for whenever these changes might come again. It was good to have Larnell and Pogba alongside me when they came on. We have been playing together for a long time, so this was massive for all of us.”
