It’s been a while since I’ve seen a good comedy movie at the pictures. Blue Moon Rising is a film made by Manchester City, documenting the 09-10 season under the Sheikh.
In the build up to the League Cup semi-final, for which Garry Cook famously claimed it wasn’t “a matter of if, but when” they beat Manchester United, the City chairman revealed just how much their fans hate our banner.
“There is a banner at Old Trafford which reads 33½ years and it is ticking towards 34, the number of years without a trophy here. It drives us nuts.”
Of course, we beat them, in what would become our second of three injury time wins against them, and the banner has since rolled on past 34.
