Can anyone help me understand the goal difference. Before the match City's GD was 1 better than ours. How come we're now 1 better having scored only one more goal (I expected GD now to be equal)

I don't want to leave this unsaid - Rio Ferdinand, the best central defender of his generation, one of my all time favourite players, who was wrongfully snubbed by Hodgson last summer, had a great game and bossed Aguero, Balotelli and that clown, Tevez. Legend.

Breaking News..................
Tevez has re-entered the pitch at Etihad Stadium searching for all the coins that got thrown.

Fucking priceless, laughing at all the morons expecting us getting thrashed. Only shame is we werent up 3-0 like we should, and if the pen was given, who knows what would have happened then.

Man utd wil remain d boss of chester & England 4 d next ten decades. Unarguably,RVP and Rooney remains d best strikers in d modern football. As for city fans, FA should give out adequate punishment 4 striking Rio wt coins. It's a shame that a club that should be one of d pace-setters in d world football behaved in this ugly manner. FA must act fast cos d whole world is watching.

Bloody hell,what a win!Absolutely lovely!

Rio Ferdinand and the rest of the defence were rock solid, hope Evans will be fine.

If De Gea gets rotated now I don't know what Fergie's up to,he commanded his box and made some superb saves.

Carrick handled Toure magnificently, poor marking for 1st goal and no man on the line for the 2nd,hope those errors will be fixed.

Clevz had a decent 1st half but disappeared for long spells in the 2nd.He has a lot to prove and thus needs to improve.

Credit to Young for actually turning up.Neat assist and good tracking.Us reds are always on his back for every misplaced pass so it's only fair he gets some praise.Valencia isn't himself, maybe it's the injury, his decision making must get better.

Rooney + RVP = LOVE...they ooze class.

City fans,You bunch of classless twats,We're top of the league wahahahahhaah

Few quick points:

Can you imagine the media outcry if Utd had been the beneficiaries of today's decisions?

Aside from the obvious poor decisions, Yaya Toure should have been booked in the first half for diving.

I hope Sky stop showing 'that' goal and start showing the Van Persie strike now.

Can we see a settled starting XI now please for the next three months with the odd tweak here and there, rather than wholesale 'squad rotation,' starting with the goalkeeper.

City fans should remember where they've come from and count their lucky stars that they are competing for titles having been given the chance to do so. I'm sure real City fans will deplore the actions of the mindless idiots but unfortunately, there support has always been obsessed with Utd and that will never change.

Textbook towering header from Stevie Me, I didn't know he had it in him lol!

I think Smalling deserves a mention as well as Rio. Smalling has great physical strength and attacks the ball better than anyone apart from Vidic in our squad. I think he could do a job in midfield for us, similar to Ronny Johnsen used to for us. it would allow Carrick a bit more freedom if he played that role.

Not even a cut above his eye could stop him celebrating a deserved United win.

Everybody in Red turned up today, but Rio stood out for me - he was pure class.

Special praise reserved for ALL OUR DEFENDERS. They were all fantastic ALL GAME. Evra was SO SOLID all game. He usually is the weak point in the defence but not today. Then our midfield Tome and Carrick did WAAY better than I expected. Antonio Valencia. WHAT A PLAYER. I mean I have run out of adjectives to use for how brilliant he is. He was not 100 percent going into this game yet he put in a superb performance.
Also Ashley Young was fantastic. I know I have been his most outspoken critic on here but if he keeps playing the way he played today, I might be licking his boots by the end of the season. And then there's the two BEASTS upfront. Our crown Jewels. Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie. Two world class strikers who would WALK into almost any team on this planet. WELL DONE LADS. more of the same for the rest of the year and hopefully we are celebrating multiple trophy wins in May. GGMU!!! GREAT DAY!!!

Also HOW ABOUT DAVID DE GEA. All that stick about him being scared of the high balls he dealt with ALL those balls like a fucking champ today. Looked like he had been in goal for 15 years. BRILLIANT performance.
