In the week that Ryan Giggs was named BBC Sports Personality of the Year, he has agreed another year long extension on his contract with United.
This season, only one player has more assists than him in the Premiership (Cesc Fabregas, 14 years younger) as Giggs goes on to prove he’s still got what it takes to be a success at this club.
“I am delighted that I have agreed one more year,” said Giggs. “I am enjoying my football more than ever and I am looking forward to hopefully winning more trophies with Manchester United.”
The manager, who personally visited Giggs on his 14th birthday to get him to join the club, is just as pleased our veteran midfielder is staying on.
“Ryan deserves a new contract and I am sure that he will play for another two years,” Ferguson added. “His form is fantastic at the moment and he is playing some of his best football.”
