Ryan Giggs has successfully re-invented himself as a central midfielder this season, enjoying great form and even better write-ups in the press. Sir Alex Ferguson wants him to be knighted, but Giggsy will settle for just winning trophies!
“We’re pleased to be in four trophies at this stage of the season, that’s what you aim for,” said Giggs. “It’s not easy playing Saturday-Wednesday, Saturday-Wednesday. You need more than 11 players, you need 20-odd players. We had it last year so hopefully we can do it again and see how far we can get.”
Giggs’ form and loyalty to the club has been rewarded with a year-long contract extension, which will see him staying at United until at least the end of next season.
“I’m enjoying my football more than ever,” he added. “It was great to sign. I love the club.”
