Following the shambles which came in trying to replace Peter Schmeichel in 1999, Manchester United are keen to avoid the same drama when Edwin Van der Sar decides to retire.
Aalesunds shot-stopper Anders Lindegaard is a player that has been linked to the club and he has today confirmed that interest.
“There are a lot of rumours in the press about the clubs interested in me, but some of them are actually quite accurate,” he said. “And yes, it is Manchester United. I know there is interest from United, it is not just coming from the press.”
