Hannibal Mejbri joined Manchester United from AS Monaco when he was just 16-years-old, turning down interest from clubs like Bayern Munich, Barcelona and PSG. He has regularly played in teams above his age group and last year was named the Reserve Player of the Year.
The teenager has made three first team appearances for the club and has already played in 16 games for his international side Tunisia, including being a part of the squad that reached the 2021 Arab Cup final.
He has been linked with loan moves to the Championship sides Birmingham, West Brom, Millwall and Middlesbrough for the season ahead, although reports suggest Erik ten Hag may be keen to keep him at United.
Speaking to Pro-Direct Soccer France, Hannibal has talked about how important it is for him to prove himself at United.
I said to myself, ‘oh yeah, I need to work hard.’ I didn’t come here for nothing, not to have on my CV: ‘I played for United’. I came to prove to the world that a young person from Paris, from the neighbourhood, can come and impose himself. I’m ready to risk everything to succeed at United.
