Happy new year one and all! All I want for the start of 2011 is an assured performance away from home with an attacking mindset. Is that so much to ask for, Jebus?

Seconded, CedarsDevil! Hopefully he will start. How can Rooney merit a starting position over Javier on current form and when you compare goals scored this season?

Not surprised at the Neville start. Brown and O'Shea are injured and Rafa had to get a rest at some point.

Fark, no Nani. Still better with Obertan instead of Gibson.

Rooney will probably play on one wing with Obertan on the other.

I wish VDS and Nani were fit for this...

I'll be so pissed off if Rooney is on the left again. Just play him up top and go for goals. Clearly we can't defend 1-0 leads anymore.

@Colbert

Actually, if Rooney plays next to Berba, I'll be annoyed that he started the game. Should have been Hernandez imo. The fact that Rooney can also play on the wing is the only reason I see why he started today.

Agree about Rooney out on the left, he hates playing out there. But, we're short on wide players, so needs must. @11am Cheers mate.

This 11 should get us the 3 points today, I think. 2-0. Berba and Fletch/Rooney.

Yeah, good points about necessity perhaps forcing Fergie's hand in playing Rooney out left. I just hate to see him out there. In 09/10 we turned him in to such a good centre forward and now he seems like a lesser version of his old playmaking & hustling self in the Ronaldo days. Such a shame. There's no goal threat from him. At all.
