Ander Herrera has spoken of his determination to get a win over Liverpool this evening, so that Manchester United progress to the next round of the Europa League at the expense of our rivals.

Having lost 2-0 away from home, it’s a big ask of United, as if Liverpool score one goal, United will need four to go through.

Herrera knows how much this game means to the fans though, having been on the winning side four times out of five since Louis van Gaal became manager.

We know [what this means to the fans] because we have done it already. I know how the next week is going to be if we beat them, how happy our fans will be and how they show that to you. We want to make them happy and make them proud because they always support us and travel all over to do so.

We have to give them a lot and this game is a big opportunity to give them a little bit so it is our dream, our intention – win on Thursday and give them good moments!
