Following Rafael Benitez’s bizarre rant about Sir Alex Ferguson in January 2009, our fans got to sing “he’s cracking up, he’s cracking up, he’s cracking, Rafa’s cracking up!” from the stands every week. The chant spread to the stands of whoever Liverpool’s opponents were, with everyone making fun of the Spaniard who had seemingly lost the plot.

Come May, United won a record equalling 18th title and Liverpool were potless, finishing four points behind us.

United and Ferguson have continued on with their success, winning the title and reaching European Cup finals, whilst Benitez’s career has taken a nose dive. He took Jose Mourinho’s treble winning Inter side and lead them down in the league table before being sacked.

Benitez was recently questioned about Ferguson’s success but embarrassingly claimed that it was the money that our manager had spent, not his personality, which lead to so many trophies. He was obviously ignoring the fact that he spent more money than Ferguson during his time in England.

Our manager has just won a record 19th title whilst Benitez is a jobless. Our manager is winning trophies whilst Benitez is blogging about it. Yes, you read that correctly. The man behind the Rafalution is now a blogger!

It turns out Benitez was actually a brilliant manager, if he does say so himself. Read all about it.
