When United won the league last season, I was made up to find a clip on YouTube of the dressing room celebrations from our lads. They soaked each other with champagne and sung the fans’ songs, and generally just looked delighted. Sir Bobby Charlton milled around, watching the celebrations.
“He’s won it nine times, he’s won it nine times, that boy Giggsy, he’s won it nine times” the players sung, mimicking our songs. This was then followed by “He’ll win it ten times, he’ll win it ten times…”
Yesterday, that chant came true, with Giggs claiming his 10th league title, two more than any other player in the history of the English game.
Whilst it was Giggs’ 10th title, it was also Sir Alex Ferguon’s. In the sixteen years of Premier League football, Fergie has missed out on the title on just six occasions.
To mark the achievement of these two men, MancuniaMerchandise.com has added two new designs to the shop, with the t-shirts selling from as little as £11.
