Rasmus Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal for Manchester United on Boxing Day, securing three points for the team after we came from two goals down to win 3-2.

Our striker raced to the Stretford End after scoring what turned out to be the winner, with all of his teammates, including goalkeeper Andre Onana, joining him to celebrate.

Speaking after the game, Hojlund spoke about what it meant to him to get his first league goal.

I am happy. Like the manager said, I’ve scored a couple in the Champions League, of course, but it’s been a while in the Premier League now. I’m happy to get the first one and can hopefully just build on that and keep going. I’m happy for the attackers as well today – we showed a lot of character and we showed a lot of confidence as well.

I am the happiest man alive. You can see with the celebrations. Like Garna says, we believe until the end, and we showed a lot of character again today.

Understandably, the pressure was on Hojlund, after failing to find the back of the net in the Premier League until this point. But the Dane insists he ignores the media and focussing on working on himself instead.

I just try to focus on my game and try to put myself in front of the goal all the time. I try not to focus too much about the media. If I did that, I would get crazy in my head. I just try to focus on my game and try to be better at the training pitch every day. The hard work pays off.
