Cristiano Ronaldo had no problem putting Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his place, after Jose Mourinho claimed his striker was the better player of the two.
Today, Ibrahimovic has claimed he wants to be better than Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov, ahead of the Champions League clash tomorrow.
“I am always ambitious and I want to show myself that I am better than Rooney and Berbatov,” said Ibra. “The United strikers are exceptional, but I want to be better than them. Van Basten was my favourite striker and he was my idol when I was young. It’s true that Fabio Capello used to show me videos of Van Basten and I am still learning today. All I want is to score against them and help my team by giving a good contribution.”
