Daniel James has played in just four games for Manchester United and already has three goals to his name. The young Welshman, who signed from Swansea for £15m in the summer, scored on his debut against Chelsea, as well as two incredible strikes against Crystal Palace and Southampton.

Remarkably, this means that he has already matched Alexis Sanchez’s goal tally for United in the league. The big difference, obviously, is that it took 32 appearances to manage three goals.

James has scored one league goal per 95 minutes on the pitch, compared to Sanchez’s one per 642 minutes.

Sanchez has now left for Inter Milan on loan, who will pay 60% of his huge salary, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly keen to get the Chilean out of the club at any cost. He didn’t gel with his teammates and his poor performances on that massive contract did nothing to boost morale of the rest of the squad.

James has been surprisingly great this season, with him initially tipped as one for the future rather than for right now. But he’s stepped up several times already this season. It would be great if his teammates could join in now too!
