Adnan Januzaj’s dad has added more weight to the stories that our young player is set to sign a contract extension at Manchester United.

“The negotiations started 5 or 6 months ago,” he said. “I can’t say we are in a final phase, because there are many parameters into it. But, I think that everything is going into the right direction, and Adnan has every possibility at staying at United. I can’t say for how many more years, because we didn’t sign yet. There were many high-level European teams who want him, knowing his contract will expire next year.”

Januzaj’s dad seems a very controlling influence on the lad’s career. He hasn’t let Januzaj represent an International team at any level, insisting that he should focus on club football, and is now deciding which senior team Januzaj should represent.

“I know Roy Hodgson said he would consider having Adnan in the English squad in the future,” he continued. “But, as I said for Albania and Belgium, it is not something we are not considering right now. Our full potential will be focused in doing well with Manchester United.”
