We hardly knew ya, but you do fill our hearts with pride and hope.
I was just shy of one year old when they died. Grew up hearing about them as united rebuilt pushing for the incredible team of the late 60's. All the glory posponed for 10 years. The memory savored for these men.

RIP The Babes and the fated passengers and crew of that flight.

RIP. Busby Babes. I always live with the what if question, how many European cups would we have won, I also feel that the way we play most seasons in Europe is a let down for those heroes who died in the name of Manchester United. I also feel Rio having a spat with a shit journo detracts from their memorium today. We are the greatest football team ever though and we are because of what Sir. Matt and those Flowers of Manchester created, everything we are today we owe to them, rest peacefully in heaven boys we will never forget the sacrifice you paid for our club....

My father passed away just before new year, he took me to United as a 5 year old.
I'll never forget the stories he told me about the babes.
Just seen the vid CedarsDevil posted for the first time and the tears are streaming ...

RIP John.

For those of you who couldn't be there, I thought you may want to watch this from the gathering of the United fans under the Munich clock on the 54th anniversary of the Munich air crash at 3:04pm, 6th February 2012.

thanks cedars.....

many fans, like me who live on the other side of the globe and who have been following Utd for the last 10-15 years have only heard about how good ppl like duncan edwards were. and quite often, ppl like duncan who die early, in their prime, seem to attain mythical status about how good they really were.

and i have trawled thru the internet and read instances abt ppl who met the Busby Babes, saw them play and they have all been unanimous in their opinion when they say that the Babes were destined for glory, that they really were that damn good. i cant even imagine the loss the likes of you wud have felt when this happened and u lived thru those dark days. kind of puts things into perspective for all those who have been spoilt silly over the last 2 decades by the stupendous heights that the club has reached.

i really regret never havign had the opportunity to see them play and can only imagine that they were doing some kicking up there and watching in joy as we stormed back against chelsea on sunday. its days like those that you dont mind not winning, just the way we fought back shows us wot it means to be Utd, wot it means to never give up. when i met gary neville in india last month for a promotional event, u cud see wot the club, the badge, the fans meant to him. u cant manufacture that, u cant buy that...at the end of the day, ur either a Red Devil at heart or ur not, theres nothing in between.
