Sir Alex Ferguson has today confirmed that Anders Lindegaard has been ruled out for the next 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury. David De Gea should be fit for Chelsea though.
Lindegaard had been United’s first choice goalkeeper over recent weeks but the club will now rely on De Gea.
During United’s 2-0 win over Stoke, both Lindegaard and De Gea were injured, meaning young Ben Amos played.
“I have been waiting a long time for an opportunity this season and thankfully it has come,” said the 21-year-old. “I feel I am ready to play at this level and it has been kind of frustrating that these chances don’t come around. But you have to be ready when something like that happens and you are thrown straight in and I like to think I made the most of it.”
Ferguson has today confirmed that Kuszczak will not be signing a new contract with the club and will leave on a free transfer in the summer.
